Weekly Release: Princeton Knocks Off No. 1 New Hampshire

ALBANY, N.Y. - No. 10 ranked Princeton pulled-off the upset of then ranked No. 1 New Hampshire, 2-1 in a non-league contest battle on Sunday. Tigers senior forward Lizzie Keady scored the game-winner early in the third period leading the way. Coming from a solid winning performance in goal the previous night, which help earn the Tigers a 4-2 win against Boston University, junior goaltender Kristen Young stopped 22 of 23 shots she faced versus New Hampshire. For her effort Young was named ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week.
Clarkson, Colgate, and St. Lawrence each earned four league points with weekend sweeps. Clarkson received two strong goaltending performances during weekend action. On Friday evening, behind freshman netminder Eve Grandmont-Berube, the Golden Knights defeated Rensselaer 2-1 in overtime. Grandmont-Berube stopped a career-high 23 shots, while senior captain Katie Morrison knocked-home the game-winner 82 seconds into the extra session. Freshman goaltender Lauren Dahm improved her personal record to 5-0-0 in shutting-out Union last Friday 3-0.
Colgate knotted its first two wins of the young season with a weekend sweep, taking down Brown on Friday 4-1 and needing overtime to defeat Yale 3-2. The Raiders netted three power play goals over the weekend and had star power come from junior forward Sam Hunt who totalled 1-3 -4 over the weekend. Hunt scored a short-handed goal 39 seconds into overtime against Yale. For her effort, Hunt was awarded ECAC Hockey Player of the Week.
No. 5/5 St. Lawrence showcased solid defensive performances last weekend by registering shutouts over Union 7-0 on Friday and Rensselaer 3-0 on Saturday. The Saints boast the nation's longest unbeaten streak having prevailed in seven straight games (7-0-0).
No. 8/9 Dartmouth was also on the winning end last weekend, as the Big Green handed non-conference foe Providence a 2-1 defeat. Junior defenseman Julia Bronson scored a power-play goal midway through the third period to give the Big Green the victory.
Yale earned two league points last weekend handling Cornell on Friday night 5-2, with all five of its goals coming in the third period. The Bulldogs settled down to erase a 2-0 deficit . ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week Bray Ketchum picked up two goals and two assists over weekend play.
Brown and Cornell each earned one league point last weekend when they tied one another 2-2. The Big Red tied the game with two seconds left in regulation on a power play by sophomore forward Liz Zorn.
Both Rensselaer and Union suffered two league defeats last weekend. The Engineers continue their four-game road trip with a weekend series at Wayne State, while the Dutchwomen are off until November 27th.
Quinnipiac lost its only game of the weekend when it was defeated 6-1 at Boston University. Junior forward Elyse Cole netted the lone Bobcats goal.
