Weekly Release: Sweeps the Order of the Weekend
St. Lawrence, Harvard, & Dartmouth Post Two Victories

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Two league teams remained unbeaten overall
and five kept their unbeaten streaks in tact in league standings
this past weekend.
No. 9 ranked Dartmouth earned a spot in the national polls for the
first time this season, posting victories over Princeton 4-3 and
Quinnipiac 8-1. Two-time Player of the Week, sophomore
forward Jenna Cunningham led the Big Green offense with 3-4-7 for
the weekend. Cunningham leads the nation in scoring with 3.00
PPG.
St. Lawrence continued its solid start to the 2007-08 season by
sweeping a road-series at non-conference foe Wayne State. The
No. 4/5 ranked Saints improved their record to 6-2-0 in overall
play, showcased a balanced attack throughout the weekend, scoring
ten goals and rendering just five. The Saints will host Union
and Rensselaer in ECAC Hockey action this weekend.
Harvard began its first weekend ECAC Hockey series on the positive
side earning four points. The No. 6/7 ranked Crimson won a
pair of 3-2 games over visiting Quinnipiac and Princeton.
Junior forward Sarah Vaillancourt is second in the nation averaging
two assists per game and ranks second nationally with 2.5
PPG.
Behind two solid defensive efforts Clarkson improved its record to
7-2-1 overall with shutouts over Hockey East foe Maine last
weekend. The Golden Knights freshmen goaltending duo of
Lauren Dahm and Eve Grandmont-Berube combined for 28 saves in a 2-0
win on Friday and a 1-0 win on Saturday. The Golden Knights
play host to Rensselaer and Union this weekend.
Looking to put last weekend's two defeats to nationally ranked
opponents behind, Quinnipiac starts its short week with a
non-conference game at Boston University at 7 p.m.
Wednesday.
Last weekend travelling to non-conference Niagara, Cornell earned a
split. The Big Red lost a tough game in overtime Friday 4-3,
but came back the following night to avenge the loss and post a 6-2
victory.
Rensselaer was also in action last week against non-conference
opponents, as it hosted No. 8/8 Connecticut, losing a thriller 3-2
in overtime. The Engineers bounced back on Friday to defeat
Northeastern 5-0 behind strong goaltending from freshman Sonja van
der Bliek, who posted her first career shutout stopping all 26
shots she faced.
In its lone action last week, Yale earned its second victory in
ECAC Hockey action boosting its record to 2-0-1 in league play with
a 3-0 win over Brown on Saturday. Rookie of the Week freshman
Jackee Snikeris made 31 saves to record the shutout.
Cornell and Colgate will host Brown and Yale this weekend in their
first ECAC Hockey action of the season. with 7 p.m. games on Friday
and 4 p.m. games on Saturday.
Princeton will look to rebound from two league defeats last
weekend, when it takes to the road to face Boston University and
New Hampshire.
Union will look for an offensive spark this weekend when it travels
to North Country to take on Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
Player of the Week honors went to Jenna Cunningham, Dartmouth;
Rookie of the Week was Jackee Snikeris, Yale; and Goaltender of the
Week was Nicole Stock, Brown.
