
2008 Championship Broadcast Via B2 Networks

ALBANY, NY - ECAC Hockey and B2 Networks announced today that the 2008 ECAC Hockey Women's Tournament will be broadcast live via B2 Networks in its entirety. The league will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the women's tournament by making every game available, beginning with the quarterfinal series at campus sites on the weekend of Feb. 29-Mar. 2 and culminating with the semifinals and championship the following weekend at the home of the highest remaining seed.
"We are very excited to be able to give all ECAC Hockey fans the opportunity to watch our postseason contests. Our relationship with B2 Networks enables us to showcase our league's top-flight student-athletes and teams. We are looking forward to a fantastic postseason.," said Steve Hagwell, ECAC Hockey Commissioner.
The tournament will feature four of the top-10 teams in the USCHO.com national poll issued on Feb. 25. In the best-of-three quarterfinals, which will be played at the home of the higher seed this coming weekend, top-seeded and No. 1-ranked Harvard will play host to eighth-seeded Cornell at Bright Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. Friday's game is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST with Saturday and Sunday's games set for 4 p.m. No. 6 St. Lawrence earned the second seed and will be at home in Appleton Arena in Canton, N.Y., against seventh-seeded Yale. Game times are slated for 4 p.m. EST on Friday and 2 p.m. EST on Saturday and Sunday. 2007 ECAC Hockey champion Dartmouth, ranked 10th in the latest national poll, checks in as the tournament's third seed and will take on sixth-seeded Colgate at Thompson Arena in Hanover, N.H. Opening faceoff on Friday is set for 7 p.m. EST with Saturday and Sunday's games set to begin at 4 p.m. EST. The fourth quarterfinal series will match fourth-seeded No. 9 Clarkson against Princeton, ECAC Hockey's fifth seed. The series will be played at 3:30 p.m. EST on Friday and 2 p.m. EST on Saturday and Sunday at Cheel Arena in Potsdam, N.Y. Once the quarterfinals are completed, the remaining teams will travel to the home of the highest seed for the semifinals on Saturday, Mar. 8, with the championship to follow on Sunday, Mar. 9.
Fans can purchase individual game passes for $8.00 (US) each. A three-game package featuring the semifinals and championship is also available for $20.00 (US). In order to view the games, fans will need a high-speed internet connection and the current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player.
