MINNEAPOLIS  -- Colgate sophomore forward Ethan Cox, Cornell senior forward Topher Scott and Quinnipiac junior forward Trudy Reyns are among 22 individuals nominated for the 2008 Hockey Humanitarian Award, presented by BNY Mellon Wealth Management.

The Hockey Humanitarian Award is awarded annually to college hockey's finest citizen and seeks to recognize college hockey players, Division I or Division III, male or female, who give back to their community in the true humanitarian spirit.

League student-athletes have claimed the last two awards with Kristin Savard of Yale receiving the 2007 award, and Princeton's Eric Leroux receiving the 2006 award. Sam Paolini of Cornell was the league's first recipient, winning the 2005 award.

Finalists for the award will be announced on the Hockey Humanitarian Award Foundation website at http://www.hockeyhumanitarian.org/ on January 28. The 13th recipient of the Hockey Humanitarian Award will be selected from the group of finalists and named in a ceremony held in conjunction with the NCAA Skills Competition and Hobey Baker Award on Friday, April 11th at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado during the 2008 NCAA Frozen Four.
