Returning All-Americans Headline Preseason All-League Team

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Returning all-Americans Annie Guay and Sabrina Harbec of St. Lawrence and Sarah Vaillancourt of Harvard headline the 2007 ECAC Women's Hockey Preseason All-League team.  As voted on by the league's 12 head coaches, players from St. Lawrence, Harvard and Dartmouth, the top three teams in the preseason coaches' poll, respectively, dominate the preseason all-league team.

Following are the coaches' selections for preseason all-League:

Carli Clemis
Dartmouth
The 2007 League Goaltender of the Year and a first-team all-league selection, Clemis  posted a stingy 1.43 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage in 18 league games last season. The junior netminder tallied a remarkable 16-1-1 record to lead the Big Green to the regular-season and postseason titles. Overall, Clemis posted a 23-5-2 record and 1.71 goals-against average.


Annie Guay
St. Lawrence
A pre-season all-league selection in 2006-07, Guay keyed the Saints' defensive success last season, as the team finished second in league play and third at  NCAA Women's Frozen Four. The junior also provided some offense for with 21 points (five goals, 16 assists) in league games, which tied her with Cahow as the points leaders among League blue liners.

Caitlin Cahow
Harvard
Cahow, who has represented the United States at the Olympic Games as well as numerous national competitions, joins Guay on the defensive corps. A first-team all-league selection a year ago, Cahow racked up a League-best 21 points (three goals and 18 assists) in only 19 League contests to share the scoring lead among defensemen with Guay.

Sabrina Harbec
St. Lawrence
A two-time all-American and first-team all-League honoree a year ago, Harbec returns for her senior campaign, having totaled 41 points, including 17 goals in 2006-07. Harbec led the League in overall scoring in 2006-07 on the strength of 26 goals and 44 assists. The native of St. Hubert, Quebec, racked up a League-best three short-handed goals in 2006-07.

Sarah Parsons
Dartmouth
The 2007 League Rookie of the Year, Parsons returns for her sophomore campaign afer registering an amazing 2.15 points per contest in 20 League games (43 points as a freshman, on the strength of a team-best 30 assists, in 20 League games. Nationally, Parsons finished as the sixth leading scorer overall, amassing 50 points in 32 contests.

Sarah Vaillancourt
Harvard
A second-team all-league and second-team all-America selection in a year ago, Vaillancourt returns for her junior campaign. As a sophomore, Vaillancourt registered a League-best 24 goals, which included 10 power-play and four game-winning goals, in only 18 League contests--an average of 2.06 goals per game. She also added 13 assists for a total of 37 points.
