Tigers, Huskies Skate to Scoreless Tie
STORRS, Conn. -- The Princeton women's hockey team skated to a
scoreless tie with ninth-ranked Connecticut on Friday night at the
Freitas Ice Forum. It was Princeton's third consecutive shutout as
the Tigers have held opponents scoreless for 10-straight
periods.
Princeton doubled-up Connecticut in shots 36-18, but was unable to
solve UConn netminder Brittany Wilson. Princeton junior goaltender
Kristen
Young made 18 saves to record her shutout and she and the Tigers
have held opponents scoreless for the last 210:07 of game time.
Senior Marykate
Oakley led Princeton with eight shots on goal, while sophomore Melanie
Wallace registered six.
The Tigers are now 7-7-3 overall and complete their series at
Connecticut tomorrow at 4 p.m.
