POTSDAM, NY -- Ninth-ranked Clarkson drew even in its best-of-three series with the Princeton women's hockey team on Saturday afternoon with a 3-2 overtime win at Cheel Arena. Clarkson came back to win the game after Princeton scored twice in the third to force the extra session. The teams will play a third and deciding game tomorrow afternoon.

With its goal set of evening up the series, Clarkson played a spirited first period that saw much of the play in the Princeton zone. Clarkson was outshooting Princeton 7-3 midway the period when defenseman Carlee Eusepi put the Golden Knights on the scoreboard. Eusepi joined the rush up ice and took a shot from the top of the right circle that Princeton junior goaltender Kristen Young got a piece of with her shoulder, but not enough as the puck fluttered into the net behind her. Princeton added a little pressure late in the period, but the stanza ended with Clarkson ahead 1-0.

Clarkson extended its lead in the second period on the power play when Katie Morrison knocked a loose puck into the net before Young could move across the crease. The goal came just after Princeton was unable to convert on its first power-play chance of the game. Princeton then took a penalty and the Golden Knights were able to convert to make it 2-0.

Princeton cut the Clarkson lead in half with a power-play goal at 7:28 of the third period. Junior Christine Foster worked the puck behind the net and fed sophomore Maddie Endicott at the point. Endicott's shot was blocked but came right to Keady on the far post, who scored her ninth goal of the season to make the score 2-1.

The Tigers drew even at 15:11 with another power-play goal. All ready down a skater, Clarkson's Brooke Beazer covered up the puck in the crease to draw a delay of game penalty. That gave Princeton a two-skater advantage and Princeton took advantage. Senior Marykate Oakley won the ensuing faceoff and junior Katherine Dineen and sophomore Stephanie Denino worked the puck between the points. Denino then shot and senior Brittany Salmon tipped it through the legs of Clarkson goaltender Eve Gramndmont-Berube for the tying goal, which was her 11th of the season.

The game went to overtime and Clarkson wasted little time scoring the game winner. Jessica Cloutier skated the puck up ice and took a long shot that bounced off the endboards and came to Ashleigh Moorhead, who was able to backhand into the net for the game winner.

Grandmont-Derube made 19 saves for the win while Young stopped 25 shots in the loss. Clarkson outshot Princeton 28-21.

Princeton falls to 14-11-6 overall while Clarkson is now 23-8-5. The two teams will play Game 3 of their best-of-three series on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
