Quinnipiac Women Make Fifth Annual Trip To Thomas Hooker Elementary School In Meriden
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team made its fifth
annual trip to Thomas Hooker Elementary School in Meriden, Conn. on
Nov. 20 to read to over 20 classrooms of children. Over 400 kids
got to meet and spend time with members of Quinnipiac's women's ice
hockey program.
The players split up in pairs and they each read to at least two classrooms of children.
The Quinnipiac University Athletic Department is in its fourth year of running the Positive Play Program. The women's ice hockey team won the inaugural Cup in 2004 and placed second behind the women's cross country and track teams in 2005 and 2006. The mission of the program is for Quinnipiac student-athletes to enhance their own lives and the lives of others by attending life-skills programs and contributing to the campus and neighborhood communities.
