Princeton Women's Hockey Announces Five-Member Class of 2010

Class joins Princeton team that made first NCAA tournament appearance last season

PRINCETON - A class of five - two forwards, two defensemen and a goaltender - will join the Princeton women's hockey team next season as the Class of 2010. The group, which includes three Canadians and two Americans, will join a Princeton squad that went 21-8-4 a season ago and made its first NCAA tournament appearance.

The class is comprised of forwards: Julie Flynn (Westwood, Mass.) and Melanie Wallace (London, Ont.), defensemen Stephanie Denino (Montreal, Que.) and Madeleine Endicott (Toronto, Ont.), and goaltender Brittany Parisi (Clifton, N.J.).

"The members of incoming Class of 2010 are mature, humble and intelligent," says head coach Jeff Kampersal. "They will add height, toughness, and skill to our line-up and they will buy into our team culture immediately."

Stephanie Denino (Defense • Montreal, Que. • Dawson Blues) served as an assistant captain with the Dawson College Blues. As a senior she scored four goals and eight assists for 12 points and 16 games. A season earlier she had 13 points (3-10) in 17 games. In 2005, she competed for Team Quebec and was a silver medalist at the Canadian Championships.

Madeleine Endicott (Defense • Toronto, Ont. • Toronto Jr. Aeros) was an assistant captain with the Toronto Jr. Aeros last season as she helped lead the team to the PWHL Championship and a provincial championship. Endicott had eight assists with the Aeros. During the 2004-05 season, Endicott was named the captain of her high school team and was named the team's most valuable player. She also played on the Ontario Under-18 team that season. Endicott also played field hockey and softball.

Julie Flynn (Forward • Westwood, Mass. • Noble and Greenough) recently received the Boston Bruins' prestigious John Carlton Award, which annually recognizes the Massachusetts high school senior "who combines exceptional hockey skills with academic excellence." Flynn was a member of two New England Prep School Championships and three ISL Championships while at Noble and Greenough. She also played with Assabet Valley and participated in the National Championships on three occasions. In 2005, she was the second leading scorer in the national tournament. Flynn was a captain of both teams and was named All-ISL as a senior. She attended the USA Select 17/18 Festival last summer and also competed in field hockey and crew at Nobles.

Brittany Parisi (Goaltender • Clifton, N.J. • The Hotchkiss School) was a teammate to reigning Ivy League and ECACHL Rookie of the Year Annie Greenwood at Hotchkiss. There, Parisi served as her team's captain as a senior and was named First-Team All-New England. As a senior she was 12-7-2 for Hotchkiss with a 1.33 goals-against and a .962 save percentage. As a junior she was 11-7 with a 1.38 goals-against and a .951 save percentage. She attended the USA Select 17/18 Festival last summer and the select 15/16 Festival the previous one. Parisi will be the third New Jersey native on the Princeton roster and also played field hockey at Hotchkiss.

Melanie Wallace (Forward • London, Ont. • London Junior Devilettes) was the 2005-06 PWL playoff scoring champion with Junior Devilettes. She also served as the team's captain with 25 goals and 39 assists for 64 points. A year earlier she co-captained the team and had 15 goals and 24 assists for 39 points. Wallace also played for Oakridge Secondary School and was the MVP and captain of the team as a senior. As a junior, she co-captained her high school team and they won a regional conference championship. Wallace's brother, Ben, played four seasons of hockey at Cornell and is currently playing in the ECHL.
