LAKE PLACID, NY -- Union College women's ice hockey assistant coach Jackie MacMillan has been selected to coach at the USA Hockey 17/18 Girls Festival at Lake Placid's Olympic Training Center. The camp starts Friday and will host the top players at that age level in the United States.

The camp will run through June 29 and features the top 17/18 yr. old women's ice hockey players in the country. The camp is designed to identify potential US National Team and US National Under 22 team members. The week consists of practices in the morning and games at night and will be held at the 1980 Rink in Lake Placid.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with some of the top young female hockey players in the United States," stated MacMillan. "I'm also very excited to have the chance to work with some of the other great coaches in the women's game. It is an honor to represent Union College at such an elite camp in Lake Placid."

MacMillan will enter her third season as an assistant coach with the Dutchwomen for the 2006-07 season. Prior to arriving at Union she spent a year as the assistant coach at St. Olaf College and Shattuck St. Mary's Prep School in Minnesota. She played in 121 games and earned 75 career wins at Wisconsin with 15 career shutouts. MacMillan logged close to 7,000 minutes in goal, had a .912 save percentage and a 2.08 goals against average. In 2002 MacMillan led the Nation with a 1.30 goals against average.

During her career with the Badgers she was a two-time WCHA All-Academic Team honoree. She was also named to the All-WCHA Second Team in 2002 and the First Team in 2000. MacMillan was a four-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Week and USCHO National Defensive Player of the Week selection. She earned conference player of the week honors twice and rookie of the week accolades once.
