Weekly ECAC Hockey League Women's Honorees Announced

ALBANY, N.Y. - Four athletes have been honored by the ECAC Hockey League. It was announced yesterday (Nov. 27) that Harvard University's Jenny Brine (Truro, N.S.) and Christina Kessler (Oakville, Ont.), Dartmouth College's Cherie Piper (Scarborough, Ont.) and Colgate University's Brook Wheeler (Brussels, Ont.) have been tabbed with the league's weekly awards.

Brine and Piper share the Player of the Week honors and Wheeler is the Goaltender of the Week, while Kessler earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Brine, who earned league honors for the second straight week, scored three goals with three assists for six points in Harvard's 2-0-0 week which propelled the Crimson into first place in the ECACHL standings. The sophomore forward had a goal and two assists in the Crimson's 6-1 win against Quinnipiac Friday, and she scored two goals with an assist in the 5-0 win against Princeton.

The daughter of Ralph and Marion Brine, Jenny has 25 points on the year with 15 goals and 10 assists. She played hockey at Cobequid prior to enrolling at Harvard.
