One Sweep, Two Splits in ECACHL Action Last Week

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Dartmouth continued to roll in ECAC Hockey League play this past weekend, picking up two more wins to remain perfect at 10-0-0. St. Lawrence and Clarkson split their league games last week on the road, while Harvard won its lone game last week.

As a league, the ECACHL continues to make its mark on the national scene, as Dartmouth, St. Lawrence, Harvard and Princeton remain ranked among the top 10 teams in the country.

The Big Green hold on to its No. 2 national ranking and the No. 1 spot in the ECACHL after earning wins over Clarkson and SLU this past weekend. The Big Green vs. Saints contest was the feature game, with SLU looking to extend its win streak over Dartmouth to six games. Goaltender of the Week, Katie Lane, and her teammates made sure that didn't happen, earning a 5-1 win. Lane stopped 23 shots to earn the win, while offensively, five different players scored goals to capture the victory.

The Saints started off the weekend on a good note, earning a 6-1 win over Vermont. Sabrina Harbec was selected as the Rookie of the Week after netting the game winner with a short-handed marker vs. the Cats and picking up an assist. She also had a helper on a short-hander vs. the Big Green for a three-point weekend.

Clarkson's win also came at Vermont, with Stephanie Hansen earning the 4-0 shutout. Katie Morrison and Amanda Dittmer both had two points in the game with a goal and an assist each to help earn the win.

Harvard's lone game before heading into exams last week was a 4-0 victory over Brown. Nicole Corriero scored the first two goals of the game for the victory. The win also gave the Crimson the season sweep over the Bears.

Colgate also earned a split in its two games last week against non-league foes. After falling to New Hampshire last Tuesday, the Raiders bounced back for a 4-1 home W against Quinnipiac. Colgate also played Cornell in an ECACHL contest and picked up a 3-3 tie when Amanda Barre scored late in the third to draw even with the Big Red.

Six league games dot this weekend's schedule with three Friday and three Saturday. Cornell and Colgate will travel to Dartmouth and Vermont for games, while Union plays host to St. Lawrence for two. Non-league action has Clarkson taking on Quinnipiac at Cheel Arena on Saturday and Sunday. A fuller slate of games will pick up again once Princeton and Harvard return from taking exams Jan. 28-29.
