ECACHL Women's Teams Have Five Ranked in Top 10
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The ECAC Hockey League has five of its teams ranked among the nation's top 10 women's teams, according to the latest USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls. Dartmouth and Harvard remain at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots, respectively, in both polls, while St. Lawrence was seventh and Brown eighth on both lists. Brown is tied for eighth on one list and is ninth on the other.
Minnesota continues to hold the No. 1 spot in both polls with 150 points in the USCHO.com poll and 190 points in the USA Today poll. The Golden Gophers were a unanimous No. 1 pick on both lists. Dartmouth had 134 points and 170 points, respectively, while Harvard had 116 and 143. The Saints fell one spot on both lists, while the Tigers jumped two spots in the USA Today rankings. The Bears were 10th in both polls last week.
Harvard, St. Lawrence and Dartmouth comprised three of last year's NCAA Frozen Four teams.
Dartmouth is 3-0-0 on the year, while Harvard is 2-0-0. The Big Green plays a home-and-home series with Vermont this weekend, while Harvard takes on Providence at home and then heads to Yale and Princeton. St. Lawrence has played the most games among ECACHL teams and is 6-1-1 on the year. Princeton and Brown are 2-1-1 and 3-1-0, respectively.
The Big Green and Crimson will be a little short-handed this weekend, as both squads have athletes playing for either the USA or Canada national teams at the 4 Nations Cup this week, Nov. 10-14.
