Weekly ECAC Hockey League Women's Honorees Announced

ALBANY, N.Y. - Three athletes have been honored by the ECAC Hockey League. It was announced earlier today (Oct. 19) that Amanda Barre of Colgate, Stephanie Hansen of Clarkson and Sabrina Harbec of St. Lawrence have been tabbed with the league's weekly awards.

Barre was named Player of the Week, Hansen is the Goaltender of the Week and Harbec is the league's Rookie of the Week.

Barre (Sr., F, Grafton, Ont.) was the offensive difference in Colgate's 2-1 victory over No. 8 Providence this past Sunday. She scored both of the teams goals on the power play to propel the Raiders to their first-ever win over a ranked team in regular-season play. Colgate is now 1-1-0 on the year. Barre played hockey with the Cobourg Stars prior to enrolling at Colgate.

Hansen (So., Calgary, Alb.) made 23 saves in Clarkson's 4-0 league win over Union on Sunday afternoon. It was her second career shutout. The Golden Knights are now 2-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in league play. The daughter of Joanne and Tim Hansen, Stephanie played hockey with the Washington Pride (Rockville, Md.) prior to enrolling at Clarkson.

Harbec (F, St. Hubert, Que.) led St. Lawrence over the weekend with five points (2g, 3a), including the game-winning goal in the Saints 5-4 win over UConn on Saturday. She became the first Saint rookie to score in her first career collegiate game in five seasons. She had a goal and two assists in Friday's 6-5 win over the Huskies and added another goal and an assist on Saturday. St. Lawrence is 2-0-0 on the year. Harbec played hockey with Montreal Axion (NWHL) prior to enrolling at St. Lawrence.

Three other student-athletes were named to the league's weekly honor roll: Jessica Cloutier - Clarkson (Fr., RW, Parker, Colo.); Rebecca Lahar - Colgate (Sr., G, Vienna, Va.); Rebecca Russell - St. Lawrence (Sr., F, Clarenville, Newfoundland).
