Backman Impressing on Sound Tigers' Penalty Kill

BRIDGEPORT --There's not a lot of glory in the penalty kill. Sometimes a penalty-kill forward only gets noticed if he's hanging his head going back to the bench after another team's power-play goal.

Bridgeport Sound Tigers coach Brent Thompson noticed Greenwich's Sean Backman on the penalty kill, and for the good reasons Saturday night.

"What I like about Sean right now, he's done a great job on the penalty kill," Thompson said. "He's kind of playing that role, an energy guy with good speed up and down the wing."
