Yaworski Dealt Aces
The Alaska Aces have signed former Yale forward Blair Yaworski, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Thursday. Yaworski has joined the club in Las Vegas and will be in the lineup for the Aces this weekend as they face-off against the Wranglers for three straight games.
Yaworski, 26, has played for both the Trenton Titans and Utah Grizzlies this season. He began this season with Trenton where he played in 11 games before being traded to Utah in late November. He played in 19 games for the Grizzlies, and earlier this week was placed on waivers, making him a free agent.
The fourth-year pro, originally from Calgary, Alberta has played 193 professional games in the ECHL, AHL, and Europe combined. His career stats total 48 goals, 50 assists, 98 points and 129 penalty minutes. Standing 6'3", and weighing 210 lbs., Yaworski split his time between the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs and the AHL's Syracuse Crunch in his rookie season of 2008-2009. His other ECHL stop came in 2009-2010 with the Wheeling Nailers. Last season he had 24 points (11g, 13a) in 42 games playing in Finland. His ECHL totals are 74 points (37g, 37a) and 89 PIM in 133 games.
Prior to turning pro, Yaworski played four seasons of collegiate hockey for Yale. He posted 49 points (14g, 35a) and 101 PIM in 113 games. He will wear #19 for Alaska.
