Bulldogs Bid Adieu to Nine Seniors
NEW HAVEN — Feelings were still raw
on Saturday night as captain Jimmy Martin, along with fellow
seniors Denny Kearney and Broc Little sat in front of media to
answer questions about Yale’s disappointing loss to
Minnesota-Duluth in the NCAA East Regional final.
Several seconds passed silently when the players were asked to
comment on everything the team has accomplished over the past four
years. Finally Martin, doing his best to keep from being overcome
with emotion, summed it up with eloquence.
“I can tell you I certainly don’t want to take the
jersey off for the last time,” Martin said, his voice
shaking. “It’s been an honor to play for the
university. It has such a great hockey tradition and its special
for our class to be part of that, now.”
