Panthers Reassign Callahan to Rochester
ROCHESTER, NY -- Rochester Americans
Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that
the Florida Panthers have reassigned former Yale defenseman Joe
Callahan to the Amerks.
Callahan, 28, has appeared in four games with Florida this season,
averaging 14:25 minutes per game. For his career in the National
Hockey League, he has played in 23 games with Florida (2010-11),
San Jose (2009-10) and NY Islanders (2008-09), registering three
assists and six penalty minutes.
The Brockton, Massachusetts, native has played in 41 games with
Rochester this season, scoring three goals with eight assists for
11 points and 12 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 221-pound blueliner
was drafted by Phoenix in the third round (70th overall) in the
2002 NHL Entry Draft.
