Bulldogs Chasing Cleary Cup Three-Peat
NEW HAVEN — The ultimate goal is a
national championship. Still, the Yale men’s hockey team
would like nothing more than to win a third straight Cleary Cup as
the ECAC Hockey regular-season champion.
The last time a three-peat was pulled off in the ECAC was the
early 1990s, when Trumbull’s Ted Drury led Harvard to two of
the Crimson’s three straight regular season crowns from
1992-94.
“You want to win every title you can,” Yale senior
captain Jimmy Martin said prior to a Thursday afternoon practice at
Ingalls Rink. “We’re not going to be happy with a
second-place finish.”
