Turner Traded to Gwinnett
The Gwinnett Gladiators acquired the rights to former Yale
defenseman Brennan Turner from the Elmira Jackals in exchange for
the rights to defenseman Drew Paris. Turner has been assigned to
Gwinnett by the AHL’s Binghamton Senators while Paris has
been recalled by the Toronto Marlies.
Turner has recorded 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) in 37 games
this season with the Jackals. He ranked fourth in scoring among
Elmira blueliners and has two multiple point games this season.
Turner earned 21 points (six goals, 15 assists) in 62 games last
year with the Jackals.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native skated with the Gladiators during
the 2008-09 season. He recorded 14 points (one goal, 13 assists)
with the Gladiators and added an assist in five Kelly Cup Playoff
Games. Turner also earned four points (two goals, two assists) in
29 points with the Fresno Falcons before being re-assigned by the
Chicago Blackhawks from Fresno to Gwinnett. Turner also skated in
three games with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League
during the 2008-09 season.
Turner played three seasons at Yale University from 2005 to 2008.
He earned three points in 58 career collegiate games with the
Bulldogs. Turner was selected in the 5th round with the 134th
overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago
Blackhawks.
