BRIDGEPORT — Moments after Yale fell to eventual national champion Boston College in the Northeast Regional final last season, Air Force coach Frank Serratore had the urge to send a message to Yale coach Keith Allain.
"I was so moved by the way they played and felt so bad that they lost that game to Boston College," Serratore said Thursday. "I just felt so bad for Keith that I wrote him an e-mail right after the game and told him how much I admired his team and loved how they played. If you could build the ideal college team that is how it would be built."
Serratore won't need to send any e-mails Friday night. Air Force, which won the Atlantic Hockey Association tournament, will get to see Yale, the top seed in the NCAA tournament, up close at 6:30 in the first round of the East Regional at Webster Bank Arena at Harbor Yard.
