Bulldogs Host St. Lawrence in Quarterfinals
NEW HAVEN — The sting of last
season’s early exit from the ECAC Hockey tournament subsided
quickly for Yale, spurred by a strong showing at the NCAA
regional.
But there’s a hint of lingering aftertaste as the Bulldogs,
ranked No. 3 in both national polls and the second-seed in the
conference tournament, prepare to take on 11th-seed St. Lawrence in
the best-of-3 quarterfinal series at Ingalls Rink (tonight-Sunday,
7 p.m.).
“It was not fun at all,” Yale defenseman and captain
Jimmy Martin said. “The year before (when Yale won the ECAC
tournament) we learned how much fun it could be to play (for a
league championship). To miss out on that was a bummer. A major
bummer. We’re definitely excited to try and get back
and...not make it right, because that’s last year and this is
this year, but just to get after it.”
