Dignard Promoted to AHL

Tulsa Oilers defenseman Tom Dignard, a former Yale standout, has been recalled by the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League. Dignard is expected to play for Lake Erie in three games the weekend of January 7-9. Lake Erie plays at Houston, at Texas, and at Oklahoma City.

He got the notification from Oilers coach Bruce Ramsay on Thursday as the Oilers were getting on the bus to head to a weekend set of road games at Quad City and Missouri.

“It leaves us with five defensemen for the weekend, but to see the look on his face when I told him, makes everything worthwhile,” Ramsay said. “He couldn’t stop smiling.”

Dignard, 5-11, 188 pounds from Reading, MA, has played in 21 games for the Oilers. He has one goal and 12 assists for 13 points and leads the team with +8.
