Blase Becomes a Bison
Former Yale goaltender Billy Blase has signed a contract for the 2011-12 season with the Bisons of Neuilly-sur-Marne (France), the team announced Thursday. Blase spent the 2010-11 campaign with the Tilburg Trappers (Netherlands).
A native of Santa Monica, California, Blase appeared in eight games with Tilburg, registering a goals-against average of 3.01. In four playoff games, he posted a 3.51 goals-against average.
Blase was a member of the Bulldogs from 2006-07 through 2009-10. He appeared in 44 contests in his four years with Yale, compiling a 21-12-6 record, .906 save percentage and 2.58 goals-against average. Blase was a member of the two-time regular-season champion Bulldogs and 2009 League championship squad.
