Saint-Georges Once Again Home for Boucher
Former Yale standout Jean-Francois Boucher has returned to Saint-Georges CRS Express of the Ligue Nord-Americaine de Hockey (Canada), the team announced Monday. Boucher, who played with Saint-Georges in 2009-10, signed a contract with Kassel (Germany) in July for the 2010-11 season; however, the team recently was expelled from the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL).
Competing in 28 games with the Saint-Georges CRS Express in 2009-10, Boucher scored five times and chipped in with nine assists.
In his first season of professional hockey in 2008-09, Boucher, who hails from Rosemere, Quebec, scored one goal and assisted on three others (four points) and picked up 76 penalty minutes in 47 games with Ingolstadt ERC.
Boucher launched his pro career in Germany last season after completing a four-year stint at Yale University, where he scored 24 goals, assisted on 24 others (48 points) and picked up 298 penalty minutes in 120 collegiate hockey games. During his sophomore season with the Bulldogs, Boucher led the team with 13 goals and established a school record with 107 penalty minutes in 31 games.
