Allain Feeling at Home in Worcester
The following article appeared in the March 27 issue of the New Haven Register.
WORCESTER, Mass. — As the Yale men’s hockey team
waited outside the locker room for its Friday practice, coach Keith
Allain spent the down time catching up with, it seemed, just about
everyone who passed.
That’s because Allain grew up in Worcester, and the DCU
Center once doubled as his office during three seasons as an
assistant coach with the Worcester Ice Cats of the AHL.
As the Bulldogs practiced, two of Allain’s brothers and a
handful of his nephews watched from the stands. And when Yale takes
the ice for today’s NCAA Northeast Regional game against
North Dakota, his mother and all six of his brothers will be among
the legion of family and friends on hand.
