Register Sports Person of Year: Keith Allain

The following article featuring Yale head coach Keith Allain appeared in the December 26 issue of the New Haven Register.

NEW HAVEN — Sports teams have a body language, much as people do, and it was the first thing that Keith Allain had to address when he was named coach of the Yale men’s hockey team five years ago.

Winning would come soon enough, but the means to an end for Allain and his staff was to make hockey fun again. Simple as that may sound, it was a lost art at Ingalls Rink.

To facilitate that change, said C.J. Marotollo, Allain’s former assistant and current Sacred Heart of Fairfield coach, there were games within the games at practice, and practice would soon become very competitive.
