Callahan Returns to NHL
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has recalled former Yale defenseman Joe Callahan from the Rochester Americans (AHL).
Callahan, 27, has yet to appear in a regular season game with
the Panthers this season. For his career in the NHL, he has played
in 19 games with the NY Islanders (2008-09) and San Jose (2009-10)
registering three assists and four PIM. Callahan has played in all
20 games with Rochester this season scoring one goal with five
assists and 10 PIM.
The Brockton, MA native was selected by Phoenix with their third
choice (70th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. Callahan was
signed as a free agent by Florida on August 3, 2010.
