Maturo Found Perfect Fit at Yale
NEW HAVEN — Hamden’s Ed Maturo was working as an
assistant manager at a local paint store in July 1977. Desperate
for a career change but unsure what to pursue, a chance stop at
Yale would change his life.
His daily routine at the paint store sometimes took him past the
school’s personnel office, and one day Maturo decided to pop
in and check the job board. There he noticed a posting for a brand
new position: athletic equipment manager.
“I immediately thought ‘That’s what I want to
do,’” Maturo said.
