Boucher Returns to Germany

One year after leaving Germany to compete in the Ligue Nord Americaine de Hockey (LNAH),  former Yale standout Jean-Francois Boucher is returning to the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), having signed a contract with the Kassel Huskies for the 2010-11 season, the team announced Thursday.

Competing in 28 games with the Saint-Georges CRS Express, Boucher scored five times and chipped in with nine assists.

In his first season of professional hockey in 2008-09, Boucher, who hails from Rosemere, Quebec, scored one goal and assisted on three others (four points) and picked up 76 penalty minutes in 47 games with Ingolstadt ERC.

Boucher launched his pro career in Germany last season after completing a four-year stint at Yale University, where he scored 24 goals, assisted on 24 others (48 points) and picked up 298 penalty minutes in 120 collegiate hockey games. During his sophomore season with the Bulldogs, Boucher led the team with 13 goals and established a school record with 107 penalty minutes in 31 games.
