NEW HAVEN — First place in ECAC Hockey is at stake this
weekend, and that’s more than enough motivation for No. 6
Yale.
The Bulldogs (14-6-3, 10-4-2), in a three-way tie at the top with
Cornell and Union, hit the road to play at Colgate tonight and at
No. 8 Cornell Saturday. Both games begin at 7 p.m.
The deeper issue is the importance of the weekend, particularly
Saturday’s game, toward Yale’s quest to secure a second
straight berth in the 16-team NCAA tournament. Yale and Cornell may
both be ranked in the top 10 of the U.S. College Hockey Online
national poll, but both are on the bubble of the ratings that truly
matter — the PairWise Rankings.
