Dwyer Joins College Hockey, Inc.
NEWTON, MA -- Jeffrey Dwyer (New Canaan, Conn.), a former Yale
standout, has been chosen to become the Director of Education &
Recruitment for College Hockey Inc., it was announced Thursday.
Dwyer's primary mission will be to develop a comprehensive
education and marketing campaign to be aimed at prospective
student-athletes and their families.
A 2004 graduate of Yale, and four-year standout for the Bulldogs,
Dwyer was drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2000 National
Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft. He spent two years in the
Thrashers’ organization, playing with the Chicago Wolves of
the American Hockey League (AHL) and Gwinnett Gladiators of the
East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Dwyer also played professionally
for one year in Cortina, Italy, in addition to one year for the
Bridgeport Sound Tigers, the AHL affiliate of the New York
Islanders.
Dwyer turned to coaching hockey in 2008, and was an Assistant
Coach for the Utah Grizzlies for one season. Most recently, he
served as the Assistant Coach and Head of Scouting for the Cedar
Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League
(USHL).
College Hockey, Inc. is a newly formed non-profit entity founded
by the Hockey Commissioners’ Association. Its mission is to
raise the profile of NCAA college hockey and to represent the
interests of colleges and universities with Division I Men’s
Ice Hockey programs.
