Mills Makes NHL Debut

Brad Mills, a former Yale standout, became the sixth New Jersey Devils player to make his NHL debut this season, appearing in the Devils’ 3-1 loss at Los Angeles Saturday.

"Disappointing result," said Mills, who played eight shifts for 5:13 of ice time. "From a personal standpoint it's hard to not take it all in and enjoy the experience of your first NHL game."

Mills, 27, said he wasn't nervous.

"No, excited," he said. "I tried to channel that excitement in a positive way. There is always a little adjustment, but I played three preseason games. It's similar to the AHL."

Mills competed for four years at Yale, appearing in 96 contests. He scored 26 goals and compiled 35 assists.
