Richards Reassigned to Toledo
ROCKFORD, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor
League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Sunday that the
Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned former Yale goalie Alec Richards
from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League to the
Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
Richards, 22, made his American Hockey League debut on Wednesday
in Rockford's 2-1 loss to the Manitoba Moose at the Rockford
MetroCentre and then earned his first American Hockey League win on
Friday in Rockford's 4-3 victory in Grand Rapids.
The Robbinsdale, Minn. native has played in seven games with
Toledo during his first professional season, carrying a 4-1-0-2
record in 2009-10 with a .903 save percentage and a 2.75 goals
against average.
He is expected to be in Toledo in time for the team's contest
agianst the South Carolina Stingrays at 4:30 p.m. at the Lucas
County Arena.
