If the Rangers are going to rev up their offense this season -- and boy, do they ever need to -- newcomer Christopher Higgins figures to be a key part of any renaissance.
"With my speed and anticipation, I create a lot of chances for
players on the line," the left winger and Smithtown, L.I., product
said after practice in Tarrytown yesterday as the Blueshirts
fine-tuned their attack for Friday's regular-season opener in
Pittsburgh.
"I like to go in front of the net and get a lot of goals that are
close to the net -- rebound-type goals and stuff-ins, so hopefully
I'll be able to bring some of those dirtier-type goals to the
team."
