Five Questions with David Meckler

The following article featuring David Meckler, who played at Yale, appeared in the January 28 issue of the Union-Leader.

David Meckler plays "much older" than his 21 years of age. The second-year pro forward has gained a reputation for having a relentlessly hard-nosed, hard-working play style that so impressed the Los Angeles Kings that they re-signed him to a three-year contract this past summer.

He learned to skate at 2 and was playing forward by age 4 in the Chicago area. At 18, following two seasons in the college-track USHL, Meckler played for a year at Yale then moved onto Canadian juniors quickly turning pro at 20.

"Knowing that I could always go back to college I decided I just wanted to play hockey," he said. "If I was going to do this I was going to give it my all and do everything I could."
