Rockford Summons Turner
CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League
Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Tuesday that the Rockford
IceHogs of the American Hockey League (AHL) have recalled former
Yale defenseman Brennan Turner from the Gwinnett Gladiators
(ECHL).
Turner, 22, has split time between the Fresno Flacons and
Gladiators this season. With Fresno, the 6-3, 22 pound defenseman
appeared in 29 games registering two goals and two assists. After
the Falcons ceased operations in late December, Turner was
reassigned to Gwinnett where he has three assists in eight
games.
The recall is the first of the season for Turner. After completing
his junior season at Yale University (NCAA) last year, the Winnipeg
native skated in four games with the IceHogs at the end of the
2007-08 season.
Turner is expected to be Iowa tonight in time for the IceHogs game
against the Chops at 7:05 p.m.
