Richards Called Up to Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have recalled former Yale goalie Alec Richards from the team's ECHL affiliate Toledo Walleye.

Richards was on Rockford's opening day roster. Richards backed up Joe Fallon on Oct. 4 and was reassigned to Toledo later that week.

Richards was docked with the shootout loss against the Everblades on Friday night and has played in seven games with Toledo during his first professional season. Richards carries a 4-1-0-2 record in 2009-10 with a.903 save percentage and a 2.75 goals against average.
