Turner Returns to Rockford
ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor
League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced Wednesday that the
American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs have recalled
former Yale defenseman Brennan Turner from the Gwinnett Gladiators
(ECHL).
The recall is the second of the 2008-09 season for the 6-3, 220
pound Turner, who signed an AHL contract with Rockford on August 8,
2008. The rookie defenseman has appeared in two games with the
IceHogs and has a plus/minus rating of -1. Turner’s season
debut for the Hogs was on January 20 when he recorded his first AHL
point, an assist, in Iowa.
Turner has played in 44 ECHL games, 29 with the now defunct Fresno
Falcons and 15 with the Gwinnett Gladiators. In Fresno, the
Winnipeg, Manitoba native tallied two goals and two assists. With
the Gladiators, the defenseman has chipped in six helpers.
The rookie defenseman will join the IceHogs as they finish their
season high seven game road trip tonight in Peoria.
