Richards Emerges to Save the Day for Bulldogs

Yale coach Keith Allain bided his time for three months, waiting
for a goaltender to emerge as the starter come playoff time. Three
weekends remain in the regular season, but it seems Allain has his
man.
Senior Alec Richards, by virtue of his fourth consecutive standout
performance Saturday night against Dartmouth, has established
himself as the go-to goalie for the red-hot Bulldogs.
Yale, which opened a two-point lead in the ECAC and cracked the
national top 10 this week, had used three goalies since the season
began — rotating among Richards, junior Billy Blase and
sophomore Ryan Rondeau on a game-by-game basis.
