GOFFSTOWN – Ask and ye shall receive.
A conversation between the Manchester Monarchs coaching staff and
third-year veteran forward David Meckler last week appears to have
sparked Meckler, whose play picked up last week and culminated in a
two-goal performance in a 6-5 win at Lowell on Sunday. The Monarchs
are home Friday and Saturday nights this week.
"Last week we talked to him and basically told him we expected a
little more from our veteran players than we do from the rookies
and that this was a good opportunity for him to reestablish himself
as an important factor in our team," said Monarchs head coach Mark
Morris prior to practice at St. Anselm yesterday. "To his credit,
he's really responded."
