Callahan Sent Back to Worcester

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned former Yale defenseman Joe Callahan to the Worcester Sharks, the Sharks development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

He appeared in one game with San Jose, assisting on Logan Couture’s goal on Nov. 5 at Detroit.

Callahan, 27, is tied for second in scoring among Worcester defensemen with five points (0-5=5) in ten games, along with eight penalty minutes and a +2 rating.

The six-foot-three, 220-pound native of Brockton, Massachusetts was originally selected by Phoenix in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft (3rd round, 70th overall) following three seasons with Yale University (ECAC).
