
Hamilton to Showcase Skills in Switzerland
The Hockey Club Lugano (Switzerland) announced the signing of
former Yale standout Jeff Hamilton to a one-year contract for the
2009-10 season.
A native of Englewood, Ohio, spent the 2008-09 campaign with the
Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) and Chicago Wolves (AHL). He played in 15
games, accumulating six points, with Toronto, and competed in 50
games with the Wolves, amassing 53 points.
After concluding his collegiate career at Yale, Hamilton spent the
2001-02 season playing in Finland with Kärpät Oulu (39
games, 33 points). He then alternated between 2002 and 2009 periods
with the NHL (New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks, Carolina
Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs) and the AHL (Bridgeport Sound
Tigers, Hartford Wolf Pack, Albany River Rats, Chicago Wolves).
Overall, Hamilton took part in 157 games in the NHL (32 goals and
45 assists) and 292 games in the AHL, where he gathered 269 points
(131 goals and 138 assists).
Hamilton is the fourth foreign player signed by HC Lugano.
