After months of searching, Christopher Higgins has found the
elixir for success – feel lousy, play great. If only it was
that simple.
“It was a hard game to play. I was completely shot by the
first period,” the Canadiens’ veteran winger said.
“The second period was rough. I tried to play simple, and
wasn’t skating like I had no purpose.”
Higgins spent most of Tuesday in bed with the flu, only to drag
himself to the rink for that night’s game against Chicago. He
then went out and played 18 minutes and 21 seconds against the
Blackhawks, producing a team-leading eight shots while finally
being credited with Montreal’s final goal in a 4-1 victory.
