Augusta Lynx head coach John Marks sent a wake-up call to his players on Wednesday when he waived four players.

Defensemen Chris Brooks, who played at Yale, Art Femenella and Jamie McKinven were released along with forward Marty Mjelleli in an attempt to make room for several recent additions to the Lynx roster.

"We had too many guys," Marks said. "I hate sitting out healthy guys. It's just not a healthy environment. The guys I released are great people, and I wish them the best and hope they get picked up somewhere but we just don't have room for 21, 22, 23 guys."
