
Hurricanes Assign Hamilton to Albany
RALEIGH, NC -- Ron Francis, Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Development for the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned former Yale forward Jeff Hamilton to their top minor-league affiliate, the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League (AHL). Hamilton will join Albany for the remainder of the regular season and the Calder Cup playoffs.
Hamilton, 30, totaled nine goals and 15 assists (24 points) in 58 NHL games this season with the Hurricanes, and has now totaled 29 goals and 42 assists (71 points) in 142 NHL games with the New York Islanders, Chicago Blackhawks and Hurricanes. The Englewood, OH, native also notched three goals and six assists during a nine-game stint this year with Albany in the AHL from Feb 26 to March 17.
