Rainout Alters Union's Practice

BOSTON — As the Union hockey team's bus chugged westward late Wednesday, coach Rick Bennett popped in a DVD of the movie "Hoosiers."
Bennett wanted his Dutchmen to note one particular scene: Before the championship game, coach Norman Dale instructs his players to measure the baskets, a means of reassuring his underdog team that no matter the venue, they are just playing basketball.
"Hockey is hockey," Bennett told his team, though unlike Norman Dale's squad in Hoosiers, the Dutchmen will just have to take their coach's word for it.
