Outdoors Old Hat to Union

Before outdoor hockey became a celebrated piece of nostalgia, it
was a fact of life for the Union hockey program. From 1904 to 1949,
the Dutchmen played all of their games outdoors, often on
frozen-over football and baseball fields.
At least, that is, when the weather was cold enough for ice.
Schenectady winters may be too cold for snowbirds, but they're
apparently too warm for outdoor hockey.
