Visser Returns to Netherlands

Jason Visser, a former Union standout, will showcase his skills in Europe in 2011-12, having signed an agreement with the Friesland Flyers (Netherlands). The signing marks a return to the Netherlands for Visser, who played for the Geleen Smoke Eaters in 2006-07.

Visser spent the past four seasons with the Arizona of the Central Hockey League (CHL) enduring two injury-plagued campaigns. In 166 contests, he scored 40 goals and assisted on 79 tallies for 119 points. The 29-year-old forward averaged nearly a point-per-game with Arizona during the 2007-08 campaign, tallying 57 points (19 goals/38 assists) in 59 regular-season contests to finish fourth in scoring among CHL rookies.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Visser competed in 126 contests with the Dutchmen. He amassed 39 points, including 20 goals, during his four-year collegiate career. Visser's top offensive season with the Dutchmen came in 2003-04 when he scored 11 goals and added five assists in 34 games.
