Union Set to Face Minnesota-Duluth in NCAA Tournament
SCHENECTADY — So what if it was expected? The Union
College Dutchmen made history Sunday morning, when for the first
time in school’s Division I history, they earned a bid to the
NCAA Hockey Tournament.
After their most successful season in program history, the
Dutchmen (26-9-4) will make a short 150-mile trip to the Arena at
Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn. Union, the No. 2 seed in the East
Region, will take on third-seeded Minnesota-Duluth at 3 p.m. on
Friday,
“It means a lot; a lot of people have put a lot of hard work
in ever since the program went Division I and to finally get to the
level of making the tournament shows that we’ve taken a lot
of steps in the right direction,” Union senior forward John
Simpson said.
